Bestine solvent dissolves the adhesive that holds the paper on without damaging the acrylic, and rinses off fairly easily afterwards. For extra ultra removal action, an ultrasonic cleaner (for jewelry, lab equipment, etc) can also be used to clean off acrylic dust from large-scale deep etching.
Moisten a soft cloth or sponge with acetone. Gently apply the acetone to the painted area, rubbing in a circular motion.
